Advanced Concepts and Technologies International, L.L.C. (ACT I), an industry-leading provider of Total Acquisition Management and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) solutions, participated in the 28th U.S.-Japan Defense Technology Forum at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee on May 16th and 17th 2017.
Over 90 U.S. and Japan participants from both government and industry gathered to network and collaborate on technology, defense, and security related challenges. The Forum and participants were seeking opportunities for “joint collaboration” on economic and strategic programs.
Mr. Michael Niggel, ACT I CEO, was the leadoff guest speaker at the event’s Cyber Security Panel. He detailed ongoing U.S.-Japan Security Cooperation efforts and security requirements for Japan’s defense industry work as well as presented ideas to prepare for future security threats. He concluded with details of the Air Force Association’s CyberPatriot Program, whose mission is to educate middle and high school students about cybersecurity threats and protocols through hands-on training and competitive events. Mr. Niggel advocated that Japan sponsor a similar program to aid in developing Japan’s future Cyber workforce. His presentation was well-received and tied together the U.S.-Japan Defense Technology Forum’s Cyber Security Requirements and the Forum’s Education Mission.
