“It is with great pleasure that ACT I announces Mr. Curtis McGiffin as its newest Nuclear Deterrence and Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) Executive and Subject Matter Expert (SME). Mr. McGiffin will support a Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) Capability Based Assessment (CBA) for the United States Air Force Global Strike Command’s NC3 mission. Mr. McGiffin has 27 years of experience in the United States Air Force (USAF) as an aviator, commander, staff officer, and educator in which 17 years were spent supporting the USAF’s nuclear enterprise. Additionally, Mr. McGiffin is an adjunct professor with Missouri State University where he teaches nuclear strategy and deterrence at the graduate level. Mr. McGiffin will contribute to ACT I’s continued commitment to deliver Total Acquisition Management solutions to its customers and advance ACT I’s goal of total service solutions to our nation’s nuclear enterprise,” said Mr. Michael Niggel, ACT I CEO.
Prior to joining ACT I, Mr. McGiffin was an active duty Colonel in the United States Air Force where he was the Associate Dean of Faculty and Assistant Professor of Strategy and Deterrence at the National War College (NWC), National Defense University in Washington DC. Prior to his final posting at NWC, Col (ret) McGiffin served on the Joint Staff as the National Nuclear Command, Control, Communications (N2C3) Division Chief. Finally, Col (ret) McGiffin was a Master Navigator and flight instructor with 2,750 flight hours in the E-4B, EC-135, KC-135 and T-43 aircraft.
Mr. McGiffin holds a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College (National Intelligence University) in Washington DC, a Masters in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Southwest Texas State University (Texas State University) in San Marcos, Texas.
