Information Systems

Overview

Advanced Concepts and Technologies International, LLC (ACT I) is a diversified professional services firm founded in 1998 to meet client challenges in major systems acquisition management, information systems, enterprise modeling and simulation, cost estimating, engineering and systems analysis, technology insertion, logistics, prototyping, and test and evaluation. ACT I only solicits and performs engineering services in support to federal agencies.

Our information systems consulting services include enterprise information systems architecture, security engineering, web-based database application development, outsourcing, portfolio management, program management, and strategic and capital planning consulting.

ACT I delivers web-based database application development services providing seamless integration of DBMS with a graphical interface. Maintenance costs are minimized and content is easily refreshed by your own staff through direct data entry. Through interviews with the key client staff along with review of appropriate documentation, processes and forms, ACT I analysts document data definition, processes, inputs and outputs to create a navigational flow. The navigational flow diagram becomes the basis for the interface design and layout. The ACT I website is a product of our web-based database application team.

Using a server-side, cross-platform, HTML-embedded scripting language, we develop seamless pages for dynamic data display. HTML pages are published to client web servers for easy access from any client web connected location.

Combination products such as php/MySQL, ASP/VB and MS SQL serve to integrate graphical interfaces with the database application. Macromedia DreamWeaver and Macromedia Fireworks are used extensively by ACT I programmers for developing content and template pages. Applications provide extremely robust, scalable and secure systems for dynamic informational, data warehousing, e-commerce and business applications.

ACT I has and will continue to design networks that maximize network security and user functionality while minimizing maintenance costs. ACT I specializes in comprehensive solutions that cover interoffice connectivity, data security, antivirus protection, and web and email security. Our solutions provide antivirus protection, web content filtering, email filtering, as well as VPN connectivity between locations via cost effective broadband connections over the public Internet.

ACT I staff have extensive experience and capability in IT investment planning, business case analyses, and program management for major systems acquisition. Our expertise includes earned value management (EVM), cost benefit analyses (CBA) and life cycle costing and modeling. We have helped develop major business base and cost models for manufacturing facilities and weapons programs e.g. the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF). These models are highly useful for determining the impact from new IT systems and other investments.
